India International Satvik and Sanatan Foundation endeavours to work for the society by working in tandem with Police and other law enforcement agencies while acting as a watchdog on anti-social elements and keep a constant watch on all criminal activities in the vicinity and thus helping in reducing the crime rate.
How we work: IIS & SF works on a model that creates local Mohalla groups in every locality within the jurisdiction of the nearest police station. These groups comprises of retired senior citizens of the locality, representatives from various Resident Welfare Associations, Local Traders Associations, eminent citizens of that area, academicians ,ex-armed force personnel’s and local corporator. This group is well knit and works cohesively with the local police station. They keep a watch on every visitor, outsider and on suspicion they alert themselves and the local police station also. They meet every week and a smaller group meets every day in order to discuss any or every issue pertaining to the cause and for better functioning. The Police Station in turn convenes meetings and invites all members of the Police Mitra once a month. During the meeting all incidents that might have occurred in the month are discussed, ways and means for prevention and recommendation from members of Police Mitra for maintaining proper law and order in the locality are noted for record and implemented. The members are felicitated, appreciated, recognised and honoured for their voluntary services intended to reduce criminal activities and thus acting as an important catalyst for providing a peaceful society.
The City Police Commissioner convenes a meeting with all Police Mitra groups in the city along with his officers once in 3 months or 6 months as they desire and/or as per the prevailing law and order situation of the city. In adverse situations the City Police Commissioner enjoys the liberty to call emergency meetings and thus reaches the majority of the vigilant citizens in one go.
India International Satvik and Sanatan Foundation is the facilitator of the entire process and acts as an umbrella under which all such Police Mitra groups are created, provides necessary guidance and assistance for their proper functioning and amicable cohesion with District Police and administration. All such ‘Police Mitra’ groups act as an extension of IIS & SF.
